Having completed 23 CAN installations across wells of varying conditions, Neodrill has transformed the pre-rig well construction process and design to offer an alternative approach - one that is greener, smarter and safer compared with traditional methods
Environmental impact is a concern that continues to grow in importance as demand for oil and gas increases. Neodrill is proud that its CAN-ductor technology is proven to reduce environmental impact by up 44% on top-hole construction compared with conventional technology.
Using a pre-installed conductor in the suction anchor, the CAN is installed via light vessels prior to rig arrival. This allows operators to start drilling the surface casing straight away. On average, the technology delivers a saving of between 2-4 days of rig days per well. Also, using CAN avoids all handling and logistics of the large and heavy conductor tubulars.
Due to fatigue related issues, the wellhead system is widely recognised as the ‘weak link’ in conventional well design. By protecting the wellhead, the pre-installed conductors deliver better control of fatigue related issues. This directly improves well life and the need for heavy lifting.
